Can I synthesize blood clots / thrombi with the device?
Yes. The primary purpose of the loop-configuration of Mr. A.B. Chandler in the 1950s was, to study the thrombosis process with a in-vitro fluid model.

Depending on the formation parameters, the whole range of thrombi variations (red ones, white ones and everything in between) can be synthesised.
